The PJIP is an independent undertaking created and run by a single director. While the project has been designed to operate economically, there are considerable outgoings relating to hosting and maintaining the resources. Donations from users and organisations are welcomed to help defray costs.

Contributions ensure the PJIP remains accessible and enable the project to index additional journals, track new metrics, and present the most up-to-date information.
