Project Expansion (& Minor Re-branding)

​The PJIP began as a project aimed solely at providing insights into philosophy journals, but given the positive reception the project has received, we’ve since expanded to cover journals in areas beyond philosophy.

​Expanded Resources

The platform now includes more the 6,000 journals across 12 academic subjects (and counting!). While there’s currently only ranking data for these subjects, we’ll be adding directory data throughout the year. You can explore the new subjects here.

Additionally, we’ve launched new surveys for our expanded database. If you’re an editor or publisher interested in having your journal included in the PJIP, we’d love to hear from you!

Re-branding

​To reflect this change, the site is rebranding from the Philosophy Journal Insight Project to the PJIP: The Practical Journal Insight Project—or simply PJIP.

For Philosophy

​Academic philosophy will remain a focus area for the project, and we will continue to update and improve our resources for philosophy journals as part of the project's expanded scope. They’ll be several new features for philosophy journals appearing in the next few months (which will be implemented well ahead of similar updates for other subjects).
