Our Mission

Understanding the world of academic journal publishing is challenging. There exists no comprehensive resource that consolidates important information (such as rankings, acceptance rates, response times, word/page limits, or open-access status) which makes it difficult for researchers to determine the most suitable venues for their work.

​ We work with journals, academic publishers, and prominent scholarly organisations to collect and standardise data from thousands of journals. Our findings are presented in an interactive and free-to-access database that allows users to easily search for journals that match specific criteria. The PJIP aims to provide clear and reliable insights to help researchers make informed decisions about where to publish their research.

​The PJIP database offers fine-grained journal classification across a wide range of subjects by sorting journals into specialised sub-disciplines, helping users quickly find, compare, and evaluate journals in their focus area.
